Large-scale Hydraulic Fracturing Monitoring Project
Objective: To collect microseismic signals from hydraulic fracturing in real time, analyse and identify microseismic events, monitor fracture propagation in a timely manner, and provide technical support for oil well fracturing operations.
Project Overview: Ground primarily consisting of sorghum and corn fields, and a few ditches and rivers. Seven survey lines and 55 survey points were established.
Method: Microseismic monitoring, with nodes located approximately 250 m to 3,000 m from the wellhead, and a spacing of 200 to 400 m between measurement points.
Equipment: 47 S3-1C 5Hz nodes, 8 S3-3C 5Hz nodes
Results: A total of 519 fracturing events were identified. After inversion of the source mechanisms of the events and interpretation of typical hydraulic fracturing microseismic fractures, the spatial characteristics of the fracturing fractures in the well, including their orientation, dip angle, length, width, and height, were obtained.
Seismic detection of frozen ground roadbeds.
Objective: Frozen ground subgrade thawing causes uneven road surfaces, cracks, and even meter-level uneven settlement. Conduct detailed geophysical surveys of the internal structure of frozen ground subgrade.
Work area overview: Altitude of 5,205 meters. It is a low-latitude, high-altitude permafrost area.
Method: Active and passive seismic surface wave joint detection method, initial wave travel time tomography inversion technology.
Equipment: S3-1C 5Hz 600 units, TB recorder, 80 kg acceleration seismic impact source.
Results: The cross-section revealed the location, depth, thickness, and anthropogenic upper limit depth of seasonal activity layers.
